AboutISME Publications

ISME Publications represent the Society’s enduring commitment to advancing global scholarship, practice, and dialogue in music education. Through its flagship journals—the International Journal of Music Education (IJME) and the Revista Internacional de Educación Musical (RIEM)—ISME disseminates peer-reviewed research and best practices that reach educators and scholars in more than 80 countries. The Society’s partnership with Routledge produces two specialist book series, Global Issues in Music Education and Specialist Themes in Music Education, featuring scholarly and practitioner-focused works that drive critical thought, policy, and innovation. ISME also provides a platform for members to contribute peer-reviewed Book Reviews, highlighting valuable resources in the field, and publishes Conference Proceedings capturing over 30 years of research and professional exchange from its world and regional gatherings. Oversight of these publication activities rests with the ISME Publications Committee, which includes editors of IJME and RIEM and the Senior Editor of the Routledge Book Series. The Committee ensures editorial quality, scholarly integrity, and alignment with ISME’s mission to promote excellence and equity in music education worldwide.
